Private label products take issues such as health, nutrition and genetic modification into consideration:

• President Chain Store Corporation promotes the concept of a healthy plant based diet by providing products such as salad, fruit, vegetable oden and products available to meet the consumers’ needs for vegetables. President Chain Store Corporation’s R&D Center defines the daily vegetable intake with reference to the Health Promotion Administration’s daily dietary recommendations before proceeding to the development stage and publishing information on the official website. President Chain Store Corporation also works with qualified nutritionists from Taiwan Millennium Health Foundation. The nutritionists evaluate the nutritional content of the products and make recommendations.

• No added preservatives in fresh food: The freshness is guaranteed by choosing special ingredients and controlling factory manufacturing processes in partnership with the manufacturers. No preservatives are added from raw materials to finished products, and each product has passed the inspection of a third party institution prior to the product launch.
• No partially hydrogenated oils in fresh food: There are two sources of trans fats, including the naturally occurring type and the type derived from processing. The type derived from processing mainly comes from hydrogenated vegetable oils. When selecting raw materials, President Chain Store Corporation does not include partially hydrogenated oils or added preservatives. The nutrition facts label of each product is inspected by a third party institution prior to the product launch.
• The microbiological standards for fresh food are developed in line with statutory regulations. Suppliers are required to provide qualified third party inspection reports and conduct regular inspections for all product categories.
• Fructose is not added to fresh food. The cases in which they exist in the raw materials are managed on a case by case basis and noted down in the management system.
• Genetically modified food ingredients are tracked for products that may contain such ingredients approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
• When developing products, President Chain Store Corporation takes stakeholders’ concerning genetic modification issues into consideration. In addition to complying with regulations, President Chain Store Corporation adopts the EU's 0.9% standard for private label products and co purchased materials to meet consumers’ needs.
• Information such as genetic modification, calories, ingredients are honestly disclosed in labeling. For example, fruit corn on the cob and golden corn on the cob are labelled as containing no GMOs.
• Each year, President Chain Store Corporation inspects product labeling compliance in GMO ingredients and disclose in the reports. Any subsequent use of GMOs is revised in the labeling and disclosed according to the regulations.

Veggie Selection

Due to the impact of the pandemic and climate change in recent years, we have noticed that citizens lay more emphasis on health and environmental protection. The local vegetarian population exceeds 3 million, accounting for 13-14% as the third highest in the world. To this end, President Chain Store Corporation took the lead as the first retail channel to launched its own brand, “Veggie Selection.” at the end of 2020, so that consumers can have more clarity and feel assured when purchasing.We develop vegetable products that are all-plant ingredients and use original ingredients for seasoning, such as truffle mushroom stew rice and YM SPRING mushroom and bamboo shoot porridge. The products cover three meals a day to meet customer needs, such as rice balls with king oyster mushrooms and bamboo shoots, Jidi plant-based meat dumplings, and salted egg yolk tofu pasta.Besides frozen box meals and microwave fresh food, home-cooked vegetarian food products at different temperature were introduced to satisfy the needs of different consumption situations.

Vegetarians and vegans attach great importance to the labeling of food ingredients. To help them identify product content, we have launched 13 vegetarian/plant-based labels. Categories are distinguished by green and orange for different groups by listing whether ingredients such as spices, milk and eggs are used in the products. Vegetarians and vegans also attach great importance to food production details as well. Prior to the emergence of the vegetarian/vegan markets, most production lines produced both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food with very few strictly vegetarian ones. As a result, President Chain Store Corporation dedicated a lot of effort and cost to create special production lines for vegetarians by strictly controlling every step of the procedure from the production. Combined with the existing supply chain advantages, we have launched the first vegan production line with a Taiwan Certified Agricultural Standards (CAS) label. From the use of raw materials to the production line, we are committed to meeting the needs of various vegetarian/vegan consumers

Simple-Fit

President Chain Store Corporation initiated the the "Simple-Fit" brand to encourage consumers to choose diet, exercise and health care concepts that suit them in daily life, and encourage consumers to choose convenient meals and sports provided by President Chain Store Corporation and its subsidiaries. We have developed several Simple-Fit salads to communicate the concept of nutrition through products, including mixed vegetable salad, and mashed potatoes& egg salad that communicate the amount of vegetable intake.The goal is to provide 1/3 to 1/2 of the daily vegetable intake recommended by the dietary guidelines issued by the Health Promotion Administration. In additoion, grilled tofu chicken breast salad, caesar chicken salad, and green onion chicken salad communicate the amount of protein intake. Our products continue to obtain anti-additive clean label certification, such as salad dressing series and one-day vegetable salad series.

President Chain Store Corporation cooperates with external nutritionist from Taiwan Millennium Health Foundation, and consults with nutritionists from time to time on product nutritional content and related optimization matters, such as confirmation of the content of product nutrition labels and the impact of product cooking methods on the nutrition, assisting in monitoring the health and nutritional status of existing products.

Healthy and Nutritional Products

President Chain Store Corporation does sells food and beverages with reduced sugar, fat, and sodium content, fewer artificial additives and use of fertilizers, smaller portions,fortified nutritional supplements and organic options. The aforementioned products sold are labeled in compliance with regulations.

In the non-food category,President Chain Store Corporation also offers personal care products with organic or more natural vegetable-based ingredients and fewer artificial or controversial additives. Household products with eco-friendly labels, more natural vegetable-based ingredients, and fewer artificial or controversial additives are also available.
